Celoron is a village located in the town of Ellicott in Chautauqua County, New York, in the United States. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 1,229 people.
The village was named after Jacques-Donatien Le Ray de Chaumont, the Comte de Celoron, a French soldier, statesman, and landowner who supported the American Revolution and owned a large tract of land in the area.
Celoron is known for its beautiful waterfront which offers a variety of recreational activities such as fishing, boating, swimming, and picnicking. The village hosts several events throughout the year, including a summer concert series and an annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
Celoron is located about 70 miles south-west of Buffalo, New York, and is within driving distance of several major cities including Cleveland, Ohio, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
